There are some 50 Serre Chevalier Hotels of all sizes offering excellent food and lodging to visitors to Serre Chevalier, most are situated at one of the four main points of lift entry to the ski area, although there are quieter places along the valley in the smaller, outlying villages for those who wish and there are hotels situated on the very pistes themselves for those who don’t want to miss a minute on the slopes.
It is possible to walk to the ski lifts from most places in Briançon, Villeneuve, Chantemerle or Monêtier, although there is an excellent, free shuttle-bus service during the day, but for those who choose a place off the main path private transport is advised and there is ample parking at all ski lifts.
Most Serre Chevalier hotels are in the middle range, there is currently only one four star hotel in the valley, although a new complex for Monêtier is set for completion in the next few years.
Serre Chevalier is a real community that has grown over the years and most hotels have grown with the area – even before the idea of a skiing holiday – and as such offer a friendly, family operated service, that has retained the charm of an older time. The mountain fare and excellent kitchens makes a visit to many of the valley’s hotel restaurants a worthwhile journey regardless of where you choose to stay.
Given the relative lateness of the ski station developing there are very few of the concrete monsters thrown up in the 1970s, meaning it is one of the most civilised and unhurried places to stay in the Alps, if not the world.
For an easy transfer from Turin Airport to any of the Serre Chevalier hotels, just contact us and we will do the rest.

My sisters are visiting me in NYC now and so the 600-sq-foot studio is hosting four people… and for the last two days our AC is out, but today it is working again, praise the Lord.
Hope everything continues to be good, and give me a call anytime you want to chat!

From the page: "When you head up to Big Bear Lake, California you can expect a few things: Beautiful views, lasting memories, and a lot of bear-inspired lawn art. For food, you can count on various forms of heavy mountain fare (read: American food). So the last thing you expect to find in Big Bear is Authentic Chinese Cooking!"

@Kate,
A ski area named Ko?ciuszko in Australia has always puzzled me.
Taddeusz Ko?ciuszko is a natioanl hero in Poland. I remember his name from my childhood. He was a Polish/Lithuanian general who led an uprising against Russia in the late 1700s.
Do you know why Australia would use Ko?ciuszko as a name for one of its mountains? Was the ski area named after the famous general or was it named after a modern day Mr. Ko?ciuszko?
Penny on Julia Child's My Life in France:
It turns out this is not a full memoir. It is only about her life in France with her husband, Paul. It is not
her full memoir because it only deals with her life in France. Very sparse details on what came before. I assume because of the movie and that she did bring French cooking to America after not knowing how to cook until she was an adult. It is a fun read. Nothing sad is going to happen here. Oh and it has Meryl Streep on the cover in costume as Julia Child in a market place.
Very colorful but that is not why I bought it. I peeked into the book first and realized that I would enjoy reading about an American in Paris who is not obnoxious, demanding or the ugly American the world has come to know. But it is not a full memoir.
There is nothing much about her growing up years in Passadena(California) or what she did during the war. It just gives brief autobiographical information about early years. Her family had a cook so she didn't know anything about cooking. She met her husband in Sri Lanka (what was she doing there is not explained) after the war and they marry. He grew up in Boston, was ten years her senior and his mother was a great cook and knew French cooking because she had lived in Paris. He had traveled the world and spoke French fluently. She had to take Berlitz courses.
As a 21st century woman, it is fascinating to see the difference in wages, prices etc from the late 1940s to this century. In only 60 yrs, wages really have gone up. Her husband worked for the visual Presentation Department of the United States Information Service(USIS) and made $95 a week. Of course today against the Euro, it probably is the same. LOL.
Anyway they finally move out of their hotel and restaurants and instead move into their first home and she has to learn how to cook in the first place. It seems she is making American foods. The kind that make me worry about my weight again. Anyway she is on a budget and she is also helping him arrange things in his dept. He is not an ambitious man. He does love photography and art. Hmm. I love photos.
Oh and they adopt an alley cat who once brought her a mouse. I can just imagine her reaction. It was her first cat. She had dogs in California. Oh and 1948 Paris had some electric problems. I also thought it was interesting that most of Paris did not have iceboxes (anyone remember iceboxes before there were fridges?) but they put their milk out in the winter weather. And they had some blackouts.
Another thing I find curious is no mention of bidets? I thought having a french name it would be something all over France especially a big city like Paris. They don't exist in America unless someone gets it specially built
in. Same here. I only ever saw a real bidet in someone's house a few years ago and it was specially made for her.”

Awesome! I got my skiing fix. Elijah says it's just like watching a first-person-shooter game. I can see where securing? it to someone's chest would have less of a twitchy feel, but it's cool to see you look to the side occasionally. The camera does a good job with color and exposure, nice! And the mic being inside the water tight case totally eliminates the wind noise. Cool, thanks for posting this!
its called awful?
Your company has excellent food but poor taste. David Letterman's program is not the type that a great company like yours should be advertising on or supporting.
I will probably eat at your establishments again, but I will make a conscious effort to find a similar place which does not advertise on or support programs of such crude taste and chauvinistic attitudes as that of David Letterman. He is bad company for your business.
Remember that the new Terrorism Act 2000 section 58A Eliciting, publishing or communicating information about members of armed forces etc. covers much, much more than photography of Police constables in the street or at demonstrations and protests.
The threat of 10 years in prison for “attempting to elicit” information, of any kind, whether you are actually successful in obtaining that information or not, regardless of whether you personally have any criminal intent or not, but which might be of some use, to some terrorist (who you do not have to have any proven links with at all), somewhere in the world, some time in the future, has a chilling effect on on all sorts of investigative journalism and blogging.
Given that the offence specifically applies also to people who currently are, or who were formerly members of the armed forces, the intelligence agencies or police constables, then much academic historical research and biographies will also be chilled or censored.
I am having second thoughts about a potential follow up to the stories of possible misconduct or corruption, which surrounded Sir Iain Blair, the former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, and the multi-million pound contracts awarded by the Metropolitan Police Service to a company run by his long time personal friend and skiing holiday partner. These allegations surfaced in the media, and were starting to be investigated officially, but have now been dropped as a result of his resignation under the new Mayor of London.
Remember that by the time your case has come to court, and you have tried your “reverse burden of proof” defence of having to prove a good reason for your “attempt to elicit information”, (rather than the prosecution having to prove, beyond reasonable doubt that you did not have a good reason),you willhave beenarrested, fingerpinted,DNA tissue sampled and profiled, photographed,
and probably will have had all your computer and camera equipment seized.
You will then be blacklisted as a “terrorist suspect”, for the rest of your life,on various secret national and international intelligence and financial and travel blacklists /watch lists, something which may also extend to members of your family, regardless of whether you are ever charged,or prosecuted and even if you are found not guilty.
The Maybach has to be one of the top luxurious cars if not the top. All of the features such as the priceless leather seats and the top quality electrionics make this car more luxurious and the best for long distance traveling. The componets make it capatible to sleep in the car instead of paying high dollars for a five star hotel. Anything and everything is a arm length away. The Maybach is a five star hotel in its self.

Believe it or not, you can! Both the Emirates flight and lounge offer a nice selection of premium (their word) world wines. Some are even decent
And apparently you are allowed to serve wine at hotel restaurants even in Muslim countries. Which is apparently why the architecture is such that hotels become sprawling metropolis malls, like Vegas, so every restaurant is technically a “hotel restaurant” and can serve alcohol. Ah those creative architects!
Just got bank from my bank endeavouring to transfer money to the Philippines. Not so easy. Lol Bruce
I love Dropbox because It allows you to access files anywhere! Easy transfer!
You should take the free shuttle bus service provided by TP !! The bus plies every 5 minutes between 7.30am to 9.00am. It's a dark blue “Comfort” bus, with a big TP logo on the windscreen. So you can't miss it!!
By the way, when you say crowded, which SBS bus service No. are you referring to? 69? 8? 15? 23?

I had paper dolls too, way back then. They came in book form and I was so careful to cut right on the line. Some books came with cardboard stands for the dolls to stand up on their own. I remember spending hours at a time playing with them, trying on the different clothes.
I was so glad when I discovered avatars. I first made a Winter one at a ski station with ski equipment and recently changed it for a Spring one. Fun isn't?

I know I sound awful, but I'm trying to get a discussion going. Can I help by saying that I can excuse the failure of private transport – apart from anything else, I expect there are many daddies like me who tell their kids to leave their cars in the garage if the weather is bad. Take a train, kids. Oops, no trains. So let's focus on why the public transport system fails – that's the one that shouldn't fail.
I don't think there is an elegant, politically right-on answer to this. It needs a good project manager to go in and analyse the difficulties, sympathise or kick ass as appropriate, but fix it. I'm now going to study the acceptable HTML tags to see how I can attach a CV to this post.
I'd rather open, easy to use… simple, still safe enough to transfer personal pictures
Wonderful.
Your programme for March, (or earlier), is stupendous. It has me weeping with joy.
A lot may depend on which way the Trade Unions, or rather the rank and file membership jump. Anyone active in the workplace or branch who could give some idea of the current mood?
ps: I saw one snippet of news from Italy this week, not about what had happened on the streets of Rome but reporting that people had occupied the rail station in Turin & the airport runway in Palermo. Just a shot across the bows; just saying 'look!, we can do this'
I think I'm going to have to increase my blood pressure medication.
IDtaksovr, again… the consensus of scientists have come up with a criteria. The convergence generated by this method indicates that it works pretty well. No, it's not? perfect, but I haven't seen anything else that generates anything like the convergence of the [current] scientific method.

One of your main points seems to be that some minority groups are sent to dention, special education, whatnot, more than white males.
To judge this point in context, it would be beneficial to know to what degree the reason is a disparate treatment for the same behaviour, and to what degree it is rooted in a different behaviour.
Note that in this instance it is uninteresting whether the explanation (for a hypothetical difference in behaviour) is genotype or fenotype—the interesting question is whether it is there.
Airport passengers can opt for privacy –
These are definately another factor to consider. Typically high traffic and good visibility locations at bargain basement prices, with ample parking and large freespan buildings. I've already run into them as competiton for large space users. They will and do appeal more to a user who can arrange a NNN sale lease back. The only obstacle for a retailer is…aquiring the capital to convert to their prototypical concept. Historically it's shopping center owner / developer capital that has made most retail exansion at this level possible.
